Karsten is an engineer-turned-multi-entrepreneur with a strong social focus. Since 2007 he has been involved in the launch of eight different activities including: Rescued Fruits, Mindpark, Wellbefy, Nybryggt.nu and Contentor. He also has a strong commitment to many association boards in Sweden, including Malmöstartup, New Business Center and Øresund Fintech.
Professor Brändström is Chairman of Linné University, Wenner-Gren Foundation, Bildmuseet at Umeå University; Director of Prior & Nilsson Fond and Kapitalförvaltning AB, and a member of the Board of Entreprenörskapsforum. Prior to these Prof. Brändström was CEO for 14 years for Stiftelsen Riksbankens Jubileumsfond. He had also worked as a researcher and teacher in Political Science at Umeå University, as Principal of University of Social Sciences in Umeå and Director at Umeå University.
Pernilla Näsfors Östmar
Pernilla has worked at the crossroad between technology, development and community engagement throughout most of her career. She holds an MSc in Information Technology Engineering and has worked for the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the World Bank Group Innovation Labs, the UN, and a number of civil society organisations with open data and digital communications. Pernilla is currently working for TechSoup to give nonprofits access to software, digital services and skills.
Håkan is a founding faculty member of the environmental institute IIIEE at Lund University, Sweden, and for a decade Director of two high-profile interdisciplinary environmental master programmes with students from over 100 countries. From the inside, he is experiencing an educational system in change.
